In the State of Connecticut, the first step to licensure is for a profession's scope of practice to be approved by the Department of Public Health (DPH). CTABA believes it is important for the State of Connecticut to recognize the scope of practice for behavior analysts. While there is not a licensure bill for behavior analysts in Connecticut today, if the CTABA Executive Council were to make a recommendation for a licensure bill, the bill would likely fail without this important first step.
A sub-committee of the Legislative Committee was formed to complete the application process for the scope of practice application. The sub-committee's recommendations for the application were approved by the CTABA Executive Council on June 30, 2014.
